This working paper assesses fundraising opportunities for policy research institutes in Indonesia. It examines the financial sustainability of policy research organisations and explores potential sources of funding that can support their research activities and institutional development. The study considers the changing funding environment, the availability of domestic and international resources, and the capacity of research institutes to identify, access and manage different funding opportunities. It also highlights the importance of developing diversified fundraising strategies, strengthening institutional capacity, building relationships with donors and other stakeholders, and improving the ability of research institutes to communicate their value and research results. The assessment provides practical insights for policy research institutes seeking to strengthen their financial sustainability and reduce dependence on limited sources of external funding.
